A warm-up comedian made the intriguing decision to not only spank a mother of two on the set of Disney Channel’s Good Luck Charlie, but also kiss her. Comedian Ron Pearson did this in front of her two kids no less.
The mom, Kellie Rodriguez, has decided to sue the Disney Channel. According to L.A. County superior court filings, Pearson picked Rodriguez out of the audience for a dance competition. While she was doing her thing to the Village People’s YMCA the comedian “all of a sudden and without warning began repeatedly spanking Ms Rodriguez.”
The suit goes on to say that, “The unwarranted and unconsented spanking was RELENTLESS and did not cease until [Kellie] physically turned around to stop it.”
Later on in his performance Pearson asked Rodriguez for a kiss on the cheek, to which she surprisingly obliged. However at the last second, Pearson turned and got her on the lips.
It’ll be interesting to see how this case gets resolved if it actually goes to court. Will the judge grant Pearson leeway for being a performer and consider Rodriguez’ attendance at the show a form of consent? This case could set future precedents in disputes involving comedians’ behavior during their shows.
