Stephen ColbertHost of The Colbert Report, Stephen Colbert collaborated with the Gothic girl band, the Black Belles to a song called Charlene II (I’m Over You). The song was a mock sequel to his earlier 80’s new wave style song Charlene (I’m Right Behind You).

“StePhest Colbchella ‘011: Rock You Like a Thirst-Icane” was  Colbert’s title to his “Rock Odyssey” week which featured the talented singer and songwriter, Jack White. It may not come as too much of a change for Colbert as he admitted in 2006 that before he was a talk show host he was a singer for a group called Stephen and the Colberts.

The song aired on Thursday night’s The Colbert Report and immediately started selling the single yesterday at 11 A.M. Accompanying Colbert was Jack White, singer of The White Stripes who also produced the single on his record label, Third Man. Together they both sold albums near 10th Avenue and 30th street in New York City.

Colbert being the funny man announced, “I am grateful to Jack White and the Black Belles for the opportunity to blow the lid off of rock.”

But it may be some time until Colbert rocks the house again as he painfully said, “I’d like to announce this is my last performance, as I can no longer hear.”

Although being exhausted, after the show Colbert stayed until everyone had their album autographed.

After receiving a Bachelor's in English/Creative Writing and minor in Dance my aspirations were set to find a job that allowed me to write and dance at the exact same time. With AmericasComedy.Com I can literally do a jig while I'm typing up an article. In my spare time I freakishly love to clean, taking photographs, watching a good movie, dancing like a baboon and having a mad crush on Andy Samberg. I believe comedy is vital and am excited to be a part of this website!
