The sketch comedy show Portlandia is due for a new season. The show has pretty awesome cinematography, is entering into its third season and stars two of the most respected and innovative names in comedy. So, to say the least, it’s got a few prospects for its upcoming guest cast.

Besides Chloe Sevigny’s (Big Love and American Horror Story: Asylum) stationary introduction as Fred and Carrie‘s new roommate, Alexandria, other big names are sure to drop by.

Green Party presidential race candidate Roseanne Barr will be in on the show. Additionally, the Saturday Night Live squadron of Bill Hader and Bobby Moynihan will make an appearance. The list seems almost endless: Rose Byrne (Bridesmades), Juliette Lewis, comedians Patton Oswalt, Jim Gaffigan and Matt Lucas (he’s British), Martina Navratilova, Matt Berry (British sitcom actor) and finally George Wendt.

There are also a couple of musicians who will make an appearance. This is certainly the result of Carrie Brownstein’s influence, who is also a musician and half of the mastermind behind Portlandia. Acts include J. Mascis of Dinosaur Jr. and the band Dirty Projectors.

In the past, Portlandia has featured appearances from Jeff Goldblum, Kyle MacLachlan, Steve Buscemi and Tim Robbins, to name a few. Some how, they even managed to coerce Portland’s mayor, Sam Adams, into playing Portlandia’s fictional mayor’s assistant on the show.

The new season starts on Friday, Jan. 4 on IFC (Independent Film Channel).
