jonah hillComedian and actor of the recent film Moneyball has got together with the rising-to-fame stand-up comedian Hannibal Buress in pursuit of producing  and co-writing a sitcom that is due to be on FOX.

Hill will do the honors of executive producing. The main character will be Buress whose debut album,  My Name is Hannibal, was ranked second in Laughspin’s 2010 list of the year’s best comedy albums.

Speaking of Laughspin, they were able to interview Buress and Hill on the new project. When asked a little bit about the collaboration, Buress expressed, “All I can say right now is that the head writer will be Ron Artest/Metta World Peace. I’m excited to see the direction that he takes the show in. He’s excited for the work because of the NBA lockout.” Hopefully, Artest didn’t read that.

During a different interview with Deadline, Hill had to explain his first encounter with Hannibal. Hill said,”From the first time I saw Hannibal perform, I started banging down the door to be the person to help guide his unique voice and material to television. I feel lucky he chose me and my bosses at Fox.”

The Superbad star has been on the go with not only his Buress development, but his co-creation of  the Fox animated comedy Allen Gregory, which will premiere on October 30th. Not to mention he’s been busy promoting his new comedy film The Sitter, and losing like fifty pounds.

Buress pointed out, “My initial dream was to write a show for Fox News, but Jonah convinced me we’d have a slightly better shot at normal Fox.”

This will be Buress’s first starring role after writing on Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock. He has done loads of stand-up, where he has been seen as cool and laid back. He’s recieved a lot of press in the last year because of his uniqueness.

Hill isn’t the only celebrity who appreciates Buress. Chris Rock said,  “If Steven Wright, Mos Def and Dave Chappelle had a baby, that would be disgusting, but it would sound like Hannibal Buress.”

After receiving a Bachelor's in English/Creative Writing and minor in Dance my aspirations were set to find a job that allowed me to write and dance at the exact same time. With AmericasComedy.Com I can literally do a jig while I'm typing up an article. In my spare time I freakishly love to clean, taking photographs, watching a good movie, dancing like a baboon and having a mad crush on Andy Samberg. I believe comedy is vital and am excited to be a part of this website!
