The sold-out show, part of a 100-city “Identity Crisis” tour, featured Dunham’s usual entourage: Walter the Grumpy Retiree, Achmed the Dead Terrorist, Bubba J the Redneck, Peanut, and Jose Jalapeno-on-a-Stick. He also brought a brand new, effeminate puppet introduced as Achmed Jr.
Dunham’s unique way of delivering harsh, raunchy and at times racist and homophobic jokes are not likely to get him in trouble. Who could be really mad at puppets? The funnyman charmed everyone with his witty punchlines, quick comebacks from his characters, and an impressive collection of accents.
Dunham was named “the most successful comedian working in America” by The New York Times Magazine and has been among Forbes magazine’s 100 most powerful entertainers for the past two years. With 5 million fans on Facebook, half a billion hits on YouTube and a top spot on My Space, Dunham remains one of the most popular and beloved comedians with or without identity crises.
