The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, in association with Comedy Central, has confirmed the comedy lineup for its 2012 event. It is scheduled to take place June 7 – 10 in Manchester, TN. Bonnaroo is considered to be one of the biggest comedy events in the country. Presenting comedy since 2004, it has become a must-play for many comedians.

The festival will welcome some of the greatest comedians working today. The stellar lineup will include Aziz Ansari, who was announced with the initial lineup, Steven Wright, Marc Maron, Brian Posehn, Reggie Watts, Judah Friedlander, Rhys Darby, Colin Hay, Garfunkle & Oats, Amy Schumer, Pete Holmes, Rory Scovel, Mike O’Connell, Ali Wong, and Kyle Kinane.

Ansari will perform either on a stage, the first comedian to do so since Chris Rock in 2008, or in the Comedy Tent and serve as MC for the main stage like Conan O’Brien did in 2010. As the only round-the-clock major U.S. music festival, Bonnaroo offers many unique performances in the comedy tent that are not likely to be seen in comedy clubs. The event organizers have managed to pack plenty of activities including  a comedy theater, cinema festival, silent disco, salon, gardening lessons, arcade, Internet cafés, restaurants, yoga classes and hundreds of food and craft vendors.

Show times for the individual comedians have yet to be established and more details will be announced in the coming weeks.
