In an intriguing pairing, Ashley Tisdale of the High School Musical film series and Disney Channel’s The Suite Life of Zack and Cody will play a significant role in comedian Louis C.K.’s new CBS sitcom.
According to Deadline, the show features “an ensemble of young people trying to achieve their creative dreams in these tough financial times. Tisdale will play Petra, the beautiful and sarcastic assistant to a vintage clothing designer struggling to carve out her niche in New York.”
Tisdale also is known for her voice. She released two albums, one in 2007 and the other in 2009. Tisdale most recently starred in the television show Hellcats which delves into the world of competitive cheerleading.
C.K.’s partner on his FX show Louie, Spike Feresten, will also help create and executive produce the new sitcom on CBS. Interestingly, the script was written by C.K. and Feresten over thirteen years ago, and only now have the two been able to bring it to life. They say the script has been updated, presumably to make things more modern. Currently the show is untitled and there have been no reports of a debut date, but we’ll certainly keep you posted.
